Charities
Chickenshed is one of Groovy Mummy’s chosen charities. It is a theatre company who work using an inclusive creative process which means everyone is welcome, and everyone is valued. Not many places are for everyone and anyone - so a lot of people who find themselves unwelcome elsewhere in the world, go to them. Chickenshed runs Children's and Youth Theatre workshops for 600 people, education courses for over 100 students, community outreach projects and a network of satellite 'Sheds' across the country (and one in Russia) so even more can benefit. Every extraordinary piece of theatre created at Chickenshed shouts out the same thing: anyone can thrive in an environment where everyone is welcome.
Check out Chickenshed’s DVDs, CDs and Tshirts available on Groovy Mummy’s website. All proceeds (apart from postage costs) will be donated to Chickenshed. 15% of proceeds from the sale of Groovy Mummy’s Zebra will also be donated. |

Groovy Mummy also advertises in Ginni’s Adventures, which supports the Childwatch charity.
In light of recent Government reports that have outlined the need to step-up child protection efforts, the Ginni’s Adventures campaign is designed to assist with the teaching of protective behaviours to children across the UK. Money raised from the sponsorship of these publications also enables Childwatch to help vulnerable children and adults who have been affected by abuse as children.
The campaign produces and distributes a series of illustrated, full-colour A4 funbooks that tackle social issues affecting children in a friendly and non-confrontational way. Books are distributed to schools, hospitals and community centres across the UK, and each edition is packed full of activities, games and a great story.
For more information the Childwatch charity and their series of publications, visit their website at www.childwatch.org.uk. |
